We would like to run a variety of stalls at our school sports day - does anyone have any good ideas for stalls which will help us raise lots of money?

Liam Young of Young Expert Ltd (a PR & Marketing company) has kindly offered the following advice:
“Back in my school days not so long ago, I used to run a stall which involved a melon with a face, and loads of cocktail sticks as its hair (around 150-200 sticks in at a time) with around 10-15% of them with coloured ends. Each colour had a different prize, some meant that you got another chance. To raise most money, be careful about what prizes you put in the melon at first as you don’t want to have all the prizes won in the first hour. Then, always refill ‘winning sticks’ with blank ones so there is always the same amount. We charged 30p/stick, 4 sticks for £1”

On sports day, how about refreshing smoothies to give that much needed energy boost? I hear reports from local schools that good sellers at school events in general are: jewellery and food & drink, hand made cards. Good luck and be sure to send us some photos and information for the site! Julie, Make Your Mark, North East
